Fine Scale Engineering, LLC was officially established in May of 2020 in Webster, Texas and later moved to League City, Texas. It was formed by a group of avid modelers with shared interests in aviation, aerospace, firefighting apparatus, ships, and more. We create unique model kits, conversion kits, and rapid prototyping.

Have you ever searched for a kit only to find it is no longer available or have to take a loan out to buy it? Our goal is to create highly detailed/accurate kits that utilize simple building techniques, at affordable prices.

If you have created your own components for a build, you may have quickly realized that you may have needed a number of the same pieces, and have probably added components to improve the overall concept. We did too, and thought to ourselves-why not share what we’ve done with the rest of the modelling community? But why stop there-how about creating our own model kits?

This seed was planted during a scratch build of Squad 51 from the show “Emergency!” The squad was as much of a character of the show as Roy and Johnny. Due to needing several identical parts (running lights, air cylinders, ect.), we learned a great deal on how to create molds.

Fast forward a year or two after purchasing a 3D-printer, a dream of building an accurate representation of the International Space Station (and other spacecraft) became reality. Many of the details incorporated into this kit, and others, pay homage to the brilliant engineers and flight controllers that work on the real thing. It was an ambitious build and a complex model to design. It taught us a tremendous amount, including the creation of photo-etch components and water slide decals.
